Back in the 1970's, I knew a guy who helped defrost and clean out the Hormel lockers in LA, and they found sausages that were 80 years old and put them into the food chain. My friend was okay with this, saying - "hey, at leat it's not loaded with garbage, like today!) . Garbage food doesn't ever really go away. As for the UK, sorry - you're way wrong about their safety laws They are MAJOR promoters of glutamate as an additive, and if you read about the Pink slime, it is glutamate that causes the actual damage. This weeks post is about "Pink slime"—the cheeky nickname for scraps of slaughtered cow that have been pulverized, defatted, subjected to ammonia steam to kill pathogens, and congealed into a filler for ground beef. Like a horror film villain, it takes a pounding but keeps coming back.
