Republican Debate Tonight: Candidates To Face Off In Arizona

MESA, Ariz. — Rick Santorum is looking for another upset or two, while Mitt Romney is hoping to keep his leading rival at bay in the run-up to the 20th ...

Is every Democrat that is running against a Republican incumbent running solely on the anti-Bush platform?

I live in Arizona and every debate I see on TV has the Republican incumbent talking about some issues and the Democratic candidate talking about Bush and McCane.. Ooops, i meant McCain.
Answer: Democrats can not tell you what they really believe, or what they're really going to do if and when they do take over the House and/or Senate... There are no Democrats out there today who are saying why people should vote FOR them, the only thing that they ever say is why we need to vote AGAINST whoever the Republican incumbent is...and most times, they don't even do THAT...all they say is that Americans hate Bush, and we need to take over. Have you heard ANY Democrat say what THEY would do about Iraq? No, other than immediate surrender, which should not be an option. But yes, that's all the Democrats have... we hate Bush, we know all you people out there hate Bush, so vote for us, you idiots! I think the Democrats and the mainstream media will be shocked when they see how poorly the Democrats actually do on Election Day. Not having an agenda really doesn't work. And the economy is roaring right along.

Is it almost time for Americans to forcefully take back our country from people like Nancy Pelosi?

House Dems turn out the lights but GOP keeps talking Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the Democrats adjourned the House, turned off the lights and killed the microphones, but Republicans are still on the floor talking gas prices. Minority Leader John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) and other GOP leaders opposed the motion to adjourn the House, arguing that Pelosis refusal to schedule a vote allowing offshore drilling is hurting the American economy. They have refused to leave the floor after the adjournment motion passed at 11:23 a.m., and they are busy bashing Pelosi and her fellow Democrats for leaving town for the August recess. At one point, the lights went off in the House and the microphones were turned off in the chamber, meaning Republicans were talking in the dark. But as Rep. John Shadegg (R-Ariz..) was speaking, the lights went back on and the microphones were turned on shortly afterward. But C-SPAN, which has no control over the cameras in the chamber, has stopped broadcasting the House floor, meaning no one was witnessing this except the assembled Republicans, their aides, and one Democrat, Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich (D-Ohio), who has now left. Only about a half-dozen Republicans were on the floor when this began, but the crowd has grown to about 20, according to Patrick OConnor. See Also: More Updates GOP talkathon Part II: Dems turn out the lights but GOP wont go home GOP talkathon Part III: No shirt? no tie? No problem GOP talkathon Part IV: Come on down "This is the peoples House," said Rep. Thaddeus McCotter (R-Mich.). "This is not Pelosis politiburo." Democratic aides were furious at the GOP stunt, and reporters were kicked out of the Speakers Lobby, the space next to the House floor where they normally interview lawmakers. "Youre not covering this, are you?" complained one senior Democratic aide. Another called the Republicans "morons" for staying on the floor. Update: The Capitol Police are now trying to kick reporters out of the press gallery above the floor, meaning we cant watch the Republicans anymore. But Minority Whip Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) is now in the gallery talking to reporters, so the cops have held off for a minute. Clearly, Democrats dont want Republicans getting any press for this episode. GOP leaders are trying to find other Republicans to rotate in for Blunt so reporters arent kicked out. Update 2: This message was sent out by Blunts office: "Although this Democrat majority just adjourned for the Democrat 5-week vacation, House Republicans are continuing to fight on the House floor. Although the lights, mics and C-SPAN cameras have been turned off, House Republicans are on the floor speaking to the taxpayers in the gallery who, not surprisingly, agree with Republican energy proposals. "All Republicans who are in town are encouraged to come to the House floor." Update 3: Democrats just turned out the lights again. Republicans cheered. Update 4: Republican leaders just sent out a notice looking for a bullhorn, and leadership aides are trying to corral all the members who are still in town to come speak on the floor and sustain this one-sided debate. Also, Republicans can thank Shadegg for turning on the microphones the first time. Apparently, the fiesty Arizona conservative started typing random codes into the chambers public address system and accidentally typed the correct code, allowing Republicans brief access to the microphone before it was turned off again. "I love this," Shadegg told reporters up in the press gallery afterward. "Congress can be so boring. ... This is a kick." » Continue reading House Dems turn out the lights but GOP keeps talking Update 5: The scene on the floor is kind of crazy. Normally, members are not allowed to speak directly to the visitor galleries, and visitors are prohibited from cheering. But in this case, the members are walking up and down on the floor during their speeches, standing on chairs. The visitors are cheering loudly. Some members even brought in visitors, who are now sitting on the House floor in the seats normally filled by lawmakers, cheering and clapping. Very funny. Democrats faced a choice here: Should they leave the cameras on and let Republicans rip Pelosi & Co. on C-SPAN, or should they leave the cameras off and let the Republicans have their "tantrum," as one Democratic aide characterized it, with the cameras off? So the cameras are off, but Republicans, and the crowd, are clearly enjoying the scene. Update 6: Republicans are literally hugging each other on the House floor. Rep. Don Manzullo (R-Ill.), not normally known as a distinguished orator, just gave a rousing speech, accusing Democrats of stifling dissent. He referenced President John Quincy Adams, who returned as a House member after being defeated in his presidential reelection bid. Waving his arms and yelling, Manzullo brought the crowd (including a lot of staffers shipped in by GOP leaders to fill up the place), and he left the floor to hugs from his colleagues. You dont see that up here every day. Update 7: Rep Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) just pretended to be a Democrat. He stood on the other side of the chamber and listed all of the GOP bills that the Dems killed. He then said, "I am a Democrat, and here is my energy plan" and he held up a picture of an old VW Bug with a sail attached to it. He paraded around the House floor with the sign while the crowd cheered. Update 8: Its over. Right at the stroke of five Georgia Rep. Tom Price announced that House Republicans were ending their impromptu protest on the floor of the chamber, ending a five-plus hour rebellion with a round of "God Bless America." The assembled tourists, aides and members in the chamber gave Price and his compatriots a standing ovation. They left the chamber to shouts of "USA! USA
Answer: I hope America reacts to this by backing the Republican organizers like Mike Pence who are showing some spine and are standing up to the do nothing congress led by Pelosi. I hope this issue becomes nationalized by the republican to run on. Drill Here; Drill Now; Pay Less.

How do Right Wingers not living in Arizona feel about AZ Gov Jan Brewers death panels?

and what about her raising taxes? where is the tea party? shouldnt they be protesting against her by now? http://www.statepress.com/2010/12/05/brewer-death-panels-and-taxes/ Brewer, death panels and taxes During the health care debate, the far right decried a portion of the plan as “death panels.” These death panels were a supposed result of government bureaucracy that would judge whether someone is worthy of health care based on his or her contribution to society. If not the government would essentially “pull the plug on granny.” While nothing of this sort was ever included in any draft or the final health care bill, it didn’t stop conservatives from spreading far-fetched falsities. But now, the far right is eating its rhetoric. A Republican-run Arizona government has decided to send its residents to the lopping block if they need an organ transplant. According to The Arizona Republic, the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) has cut some organ transplant funding for those on the state’s Medicaid program. Patients with hepatitis C that need a transplant are now out of luck. Likewise for lung transplants and some heart and bone marrow transplants. This is nothing short of appalling. The Arizona state Legislature and Gov. Jan Brewer have decided to leave low-income citizens who need transplants to die. Francisco Felix, a man who has hepatitis C and is in need of a new liver, is one such life that has been put on the chopping block. @John Gibson, this is about Brewers panels. Everybody with a brain knows that Obama care death panels are BS. @sergeant, OK, so lets start off by taking down the biker gangs. They are selling 85% of the weapons to Mexico. WOW! Conservatives are really selfish. The ones that dont live in Arizona could care less about Americans dying?....cause its not in their state! I though we were a "nation".
Answer: People are being left to die and everyone seems to not care. Nice Christians, I hope you get cancer and die.

Will La Raza come out and denounce these patriotic Hispanic Americans for supporting Arizona immigration law?

The Arizona Latino Republican Association will become the first Hispanic organization in the country to actively oppose the Department of Justices lawsuit against the state of Arizonas new immigration law. Larry Klayman, founder of Freedom Watch, Inc., said he will be joined by ALRA Chairman Jesse Hernandez and members of the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association at an announcement Thursday morning in Phoenix. ALRA will become the first group of Latino Americans to "put a foot forward legally" in support of S.B. 1070 by filing a motion to intervene against the Justice Departments lawsuit challenging Arizonas immigration policy, Klayman said. "This is a way to tell the country that, Hey, were Americans too and we believe in the rule of law," Klayman told Foxnews.com. "Its a way to say, We got here legally and we contributed a great deal. We want the rest of the country to recognize that were with you [in the national immigration debate]." http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/07/20/hispanic-gop-group-announce-support-arizona-immigration-law/#content
Answer: I actually believe they would disown them and call them very Un-Mexico like. Take this problem here..Huixtla, Chiapas – Residents in the area of Avenida Gonzalez Ortega and Calle Iturbide are asking authorities to intervene concerning the presence of a shelter which for the last few days has housed a group of abused, exploited and abandoned Central American children. The children misbehave and cause commotion at all hours of the night and won’t allow the neighbors to get any rest. They call upon the police to restore order. The shelter was originally created to care for local street children, but now has been converted to care for a number of illegal children. The neighbors complain that groups of these kids beg for money when they (the neighbors) walk through the area and cause them to feel helpless because the authorities won’t look into the situation. Additionally, the local residents ask that the Director, Jorge Alberto Lopez Munoz, be investigated for failure to control the activities of the children. http://www.oem.com.mx/lavozdelafrontera/notas/n1711959.htm Where is all the love and human compassion and human rights groups at ? What is the U.S. Republican Partys position on climate change science?

It is hard to tell from the inconsistent and not always very believable public statements of leading Republicans: “scientists vigorously disagree over whether human activities are responsible for global warming” Senate Floor Statement by U.S. Sen. James M. Inhofe(R-Okla), July 28, 2003 http://inhofe.senate.gov/pressreleases/climate.htm “We simply must do everything we can in our power to slow down global warming before it is too late...The science is clear. The global warming debate is over.” Calif. Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sept. 27, 2006 http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15029070/ns/us_news-environment/ “theres no serious division of scientific opinion. Peer-reviewed journals make very clear that climate change is accepted by atmospheric scientists all over the world, with very few outliers.” William Reilly, businessman (Wikipedia: from a conservative, deeply religious family, head, Environmental Protection Agency, under President George H. W. Bush), March 19, 2007 http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/hotpolitics/interviews/reilly.html "We have many advantages in the fight against global warming, but time is not one of them. . . . We stand warned by serious and credible scientists across the world that time is short and the dangers are great…The most relevant question is whether our own government is equal to the challenge." Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain, May 13, 2008 http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2008-05-13/news/mccain13_1_mccain-climate-change-emissions " There isn’t any real science to say we are altering the climate path of the earth.” Congressman Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), April 29, 2009 http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=31656
Answer: A large percentage of Republicans, at least in Texas, believe the following: Earth is 6 - 8 thousand years old God is in control of the Earth and we can not do anything about it Privatizing everything is the solution to everything Science is a farce and should be disregarded All scientist are on the government payroll, except the ones that deny global warming The only factor concerning the heating of the Earth is the Sun and God and we can not do anything about it either Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are truthful scientist that know everything concerning science Any cold day is sufficient evidence that AGW is a hoax Winters are strong evidence that AGW is a hoax To address your questions: Senator James M. Inhofe is from Oklahoma. Oklahoma is an oil state. Arnold Schwarzenegger is considered to be a RINO by any "true" Republican William Reilly is absolute proof that not all Republicans exist without sound reasoning and cognitive skills Seantor John McCain has long supported the theory of AGW and has long been a "maverick" within the Republican party. The party keeps trying to defeat him in nearly every election. Look at what they did to him in the 2000 GOP primaries. Congressman Roy Blunt of Missouri. Missouri is a coal state. Was this helpful?

A Turn in the Winners Circle, With an Uncertain Effect on a Shifting Race

Rick Santorums victories on Tuesday represent his first breakout moments in the Republican presidential contest since he belatedly scraped to the top in Iowa more than a month ago. They certainly give him bragging rights. They will probably earn him a second look from voters who had once dismissed him. They may help him raise money. Down the road, - Rick Santorums victories in Minnesota, Colorado and Missouri are his first breakout moments, but how much they will matter in the long run remains unclear; it is questionable whether he can eclipse immediate rival Newt Gingrich or pose a realistic threat to Mitt Romney, who remains better financed and better organized in other states. What does it take to make a republican stop?

licking the bottom of Bushs boot, and start how poorly he has managed relations with other countries, and the war in Iraq? Looks like running for office, is the only thing that accomplishes that mission! Arizona Sen. John McCain (news, bio, voting record) criticized the administration for its handling of the Iraq War, and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney said, "I think we were underprepared and underplanned for what came after we knocked down Saddam Hussein." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070606/ap_on_el_pr/republicans_debate
Answer: Last time I checked , we were at war with the Taliban. Why should we let one of their cousins inti the White House? This one happened 150 years ago but I think its still relevant because Mitt Romneys church pardoned a terrorist mass murderer of Americans and protected over 100 other accomplices from federal prosecution. It was September 11, 1857. A wagon train of 160 settlers on their way to California was massacred by a bunch of Mormons dressed in Indian clothes. 17 children under the age of 8 were spared and lived to tell their story. 1st. They dressed as Indians but after five days they changed tactics. 2nd. Then they went a bit away ,dressed back into normal clothes and acted like the Rescue Party who had negotiated a deal with the"Indians". 3rd, Then confiscated all the guns as part of the deal for "saving" the travellers and Mormon dissidents( who were the reason for the attack in the first place). 4th. Took everybody off a mile or so and shot them all. 2 men got away but were eventually tracked down and killed a day or so later. 5th. Took the 17 children they had not killed back with them to Salt Lake City. 6th. Got away with it. After a publicized trial, with the childrens own testimony admitted into the court, only 1 man was convicted and shot, John D. Lee. ( pardoned by Church 1960) It ended up being called the Mountain Meadows Massacre. The first time in U.S. history that U.S. citizens were massacred on U.S. soil by religious wackos. This event is even more significant because the total U.S. population at the time was much smaller.(I dont know the exact numbers, maybe only 30 million or so) In todays numbers it would be around 1400 dead

How do you know that Arizona Deputy Louie Puroll is a Republican?

Answer: As Co. Klink would say: "Very interesting(-in a fake German accent), but let's not condemn the pig(yet). "How would I know that (HE) is a Republican?" -No way of knowing without seeing the voter registration for his county. That said, I am not one to place many wagers, but I'd place money on his Republican AND Tea Party allegiances. "Photos of Deputy Puroll taken after the incident show no scratches, bruises, cuts, or even dirt marks on either of his arms. Forensics experts tell us that there surely would have been some sign of minor injuries to his exposed arms based on Puroll's own account to detectives of almost constantly moving, crawling, staying low, and generally hunkering down in the Vekol Valley desert for more than an hour after calling 911." -I'd like to see him up close to check out his perspiration level. http://blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com/valleyfever/2010/09/louie_puroll_shooting_case_reo.php -Look at photos of the pig here: http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/2010-09-23/news/pinalcchio-renowned-forensics-experts-say-a-pinal-county-deputy-s-high-profile-tale-about-getting-shot-after-encountering-drug-smugglers-doesn-t-add-up/ -Looks kinda bogus to me. With Janet Brewer now safely ahead by 20 points will other GOP candidates announce similar laws as Arizonas?

While U.S. District Judge Susan Boltons decision Wednesday to prevent SB 1070s most controversial parts from going into effect may dissuade other states from enacting an Arizona-style enforcement law, some observers suggest that the ongoing immigration stalemate at the federal level will only prompt state legislatures to continue to experiment with different approaches and strategies to address illegal immigration. With public emotions running high, Democratic and Republican strategists are debating which side gains a partisan advantage from the Arizona legal case. Illegal-immigration critics are angry and motivated, as is the Hispanic community. In Arizona, the immigration issue has not only revitalized Gov. Jan Brewers candidacy in this years Republican primary and dominated the states U.S. Senate and House races, but it also has seeped into Republican primaries for state attorney general, state superintendent of public instruction and other races. http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/news/articles/2010/08/01/20100801arizona-immigration-law-debate.html#ixzz0vNLhImfx
Answer: Actually most of those 18 states are going to go ahead with using the AZ law, they know the Supreme court will pass it with flying colors! Liberal judges don't rule the Supreme court- thank GOD! I was surprised to hear Michigan wants that law- SWEET! Thats where most the Islamic Terrorists live at in America! There and San Fran/ LA and Chicago-and NY is where the Jihad live, we need to kick their az out and SUE those Sanctuary Cities that Harbor Islamic Terrorists- Its not even about Latinos mostly, its about Jihadists and Drug Cartels.
