is 2012 going to be the end of world?

I RECENTLY ASKED A QUESTION ABOUT WHO THINKS THE WORLD WILL END ON 2012. THIS IS MY BASIS FOR THE QUESTION. this is an essay i wrote for a speech i had to give in college, i have a real nice power point to go with it.please grade me (F-A) December 21, 2012 is a day that many people are unaware of or just don’t care about. After watching the history channel and surfing the internet I have recently become aware of the subject myself and have overwhelmed my brain and computer with information pertaining to this subject. There is a lot of information on this subject so I will only mention a few predictions and state some facts. Nostradamus, the Mayans, Edgar Cayce, and NASA predict 2012 will either be a day never to be forgotten or even worse the end of the world. Nostrodamus is the most famous prophet I would like to talk about. Nostradamus was born in 1503 in St. Remy de Provence and was primarily known as the profit of doom because of his predictions of destruction and death, it has been said he predicted the birth and rise of Hitler, the French revolution, September 11th, and the assassination of John F Kennedy; but the most important prediction in my mind is his prediction of the end of the world. The history channel states that when the 13th zodiac sign, Ophiuchus (between Scorpio and Sagittarius) aligns with the sun and the center of the galaxy “the knowledge of the trees in the garden of Eden will be released” according to one of Nostradamuss’ writings. Nostradamus had his own style; he wrote in quatrains, poems that were very cryptic and often unreadable. He had to do this because the church would exile him or kill him if they read his devilish predictions. The Mayans were a civilization that resided in Mexico around 2600BC and are known to be very advanced for their time. The Mayans are also known for creating the most meticulous calendar ever; it is so precise it has been said it is 3 seconds off when predicting lunar and or solar eclipses; when used today. The Mayan calendar is actually a collection of calendars known as the Tzolk’in with 260 days divided up into 20 periods and 13 days. The Haab has 365 days and was used to predict solar anomalies; together they make a complex calendar that proves to be accurate. Their calendar system is further more divided with the long count calendar which was used to count days on a linear scale of decimals. This was also used to track time that had passed and is also known as the great cycle. The great cycle lasts for 5,125.36 years from beginning to the end. The Mayans believe the world has been created 5 times and destroyed 4; they also state the cycle we are currently in begun on August 11, 3114BC and ends on December 21, 2012. They too fear an astronomical catastrophe will occur on this day just like Nostradamus. Edgar Cayce was born in March 18, 1877, and it’s been said he was one of the best psychics of the 20th century. He gave readings to people while in a trance; he would tell people if they had terminal illnesses, the right business moves to make, life choices, etc. and he also made predictions for the beginning and end of world war one and two and he even predicted the exact day of his own death; January 3, 1945, and he was right. Edgar Cayce also predicted that the world will loose its coastal city’s to floods around December, 2012 while the continents are being rearranged. Edgar Cayce was not always right though once he predicted that Atlantis would return in 1968 or 1969 and he was wrong; many of his believers were extremely disappointed when this happened. NASA, or the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, is a very well paid organization that puts a lot of money into their technology for space exploration and studies of space. NASA states that extreme solar storms around 2012 will occur. These storms will hit the sun causing what is called sun spots and this could change the way all the people on earth live, all cell phones, satellite, and GPS systems may cease to work; this would cause chaos and confusion. There is much more from NASA they also state that the crossing of planet X or “Nubri” through our solar system will switch our planets axis making the North Pole the South Pole. This would be done by the immense amount of gravitational pull planet X has. December 21, 2012 may prove to be an ordinary day or our worse nightmares may come true one thing is for sure we have been warned by many including Nostradamus and his prediction for 2012 or NASAs’ facts that our poles will be shifted due to solar cataclysms around 2012. Also one of the most advanced cultures, the Mayans with their extremely accurate calendar mark the end in 2012, and Edgar Cayce who made many predictions some correct and some incorrect. Whether or not the predictions mentioned will prove to be true only time will tell. Answer: I have read a lot of what you have posted and the sun spot phenomena could actually send us back to basically neolithic times as we would lose most of our technology...Most of our world population would perish in the earthquakes and the floods, and a possible polar shift... The survivors would know how to use what technology which was left behind but not how to make it, so we would back to the early iron age, melting down guns even to make a knife or a sword... Here is a previous answer via cut & paste... I don't know why people continue to refer to 2012 as Doomsday.. It is the end of the Mayan Long Count Calender, the beginning of a new era, not the end of the world.. All the disasters which are happening throughout the world right now have been foretold, even in the Bible.. Crop-circles are a direct communication from the Light Beings, Interdimensional travellers who are here to help with our Ascension into the 5th dimension..They are not man-made as the government and the government run puppet media would have you believe..They are also mentioned in the Bible, Acts 2:19.. There is a new frequency being received right now by the earth and we are all being affected by it, many of us have a job to do and we are becoming aware of just who we really are..Many of us are Light Workers and we will have task of helping others understand what is happening... The Church knows this is happening and they are calling it the 2nd coming among other things, just another con really, they know their time is up... "Chicago Annenburg Challenge." He failed miserably. 5. He doesnt want to give younger generations a debt we cant repay. He just doubled the stimulus package which he is calling a recovery plan. 6. He says he is going to cut the deficit in half by 2012, yet he just doubled the deficit by signing the stimulus package. 7. He said we wasted millions in Iraq. Not only did we protect the innocent people of Iraq, but we ensured that they dont have any weapons of mass destruction. I actually appreciated our national security. 8. He wont offer tax breaks to the wealthiest 2% of Americans, even though they carry 80% of the tax burden. 9. Giving in to terrorists by closing GITMO. 60 have already returned to their terrorist groups. Unbelievable. Answer: 1. The bailouts weren't bipartisan. Not a single Republican in the House voted for it. 2. His tax increase is for small business owners too. These are the people that employ the most and will be hurt the most. How is increasing taxes on major corporations going to give them incentive to employ more people? The result will be some of those major corporations will completely move to other countries with further loss of jobs. 3. Any government interference in the health care system will have a negative impact on health care. Look what a wonderful job they have done with medicare and social security. 4. Obama's education plan simply spends more money and will produce no results. The main part of his plan is to reward teachers and schools that improve student test scores. This was tried and the result was less meaningful education and teachers teaching only testing material. It failed miserably. 5, The shortest recessions and depressions in US history have occurred when government did nothing and let the economy rebound on its own. The longest depressions and recessions occurred when government did the most to "fix the economy". Expect a long recovery with the trillions of wasted dollars being spent. 6, There are only two ways to cut the federal deficit in half in three years: tax everyone to the point of shutting down the economy or shut down the government. As for Iraq, the US isn't spending 12 billion a month there and Obama's plan to remove troops from Iraq will still spend just as much as is currently spent. Add to that the increase in troops in Afghanistan and there is no savings. 8 It is the wealthy that invest money in companies. Those companies employ people. Increasing taxes on the wealthy will decrease investment and cause more loss of jobs. 9. No international laws were violated. Some people's interpretations of those laws see it as a violation. The Commander in Chief of the military has the authority to give orders outside of the cia and nsa field manuals. Once Gitmo is closed the current plan is to move those terrorists that will be given trials to federal prisons in the US mainland. How does it make the average citizen safer putting terrorists near their homes?

Do you support cigarette taxes?

The cigarette taxes are prohibitively high, and they serve as a far more effective deterrent than all the anti-smoking campaigns and efforts to educate the public about the dangers of nicotine. People can fast forward through those commercials and disregard all the warning labels, but its hard to ignore the contents of your wallet. In the early 2000s France put an exorbitant tax on cigarettes, and as a result the number of new smokers there in the past decade has decreased dramatically. Most countries within the EU now have the tax, and its becoming more common around the rest of the world too. Part of my family is French, and my cousins who are slightly older than I am said that teens today dont pick up smoking as they did in past generations because of the cost. You have to consider all the motives behind the taxes. The obvious one is to dissuade people from smoking. Theres overwhelming evidence about the health problems it can cause, and the fact that it can significantly lower a persons life expectancy. So, if the tax is detrimental enough to a persons finances her or she opts to not start smoking or to give it up, then it is ultimately beneficial to him or her. Its beneficial to the community to have less smokers exposing others to second-hand smoke. Its beneficial to the work force to have less smokers, many of whom will take breaks throughout the day to smoke. People might not think that 10 minutes here and there equate to that much in lost revenue, but in truth, it adds up to fortune. Companies have also lost billions due to disabilities and premature death related to smoking. Its beneficial to the environment to have less smokers. The real reason for the tax is to raise much-needed revenue. The national tax Obama signed into law this year supports childrens health care, mental health and other programs. New Yorks cigarette taxes are expected to bring in over $400 million for the state. It will support AIDs research and other worthy programs. The recession has brutalized the economy, and the ramifications of it has trickled down to schools, households and many needed programs. Everything is buckling in from the weight of it all, and cigarette taxes help to alleviate some of it without much harm being caused. Smoking is optional. If a person decides to smoke despite all the consequences to himself and everyone else, the taxes help to compensate for them. If youre dragging the economy down by your smoking habit, why shouldnt you have to help bring it back up a little? In California there is a measure going on the 2012 ballots to increase the taxes on cigarettes here so the funding will go into cancer research. I do think the cigarette taxes are a little too steep, though. I was talking to a man in his 70s who was being treated for lung cancer a few months ago, and he said his doctors had actually advised him to keep smoking because after decades of doing it quitting would cause too much stress to his body when it was already weakened. Our generation is fully aware of the risks associated with smoking, but his wasnt. So, simply for people like him I think the taxes should be lowered just a notch. I am also in favor of legalizing marijuana for the financial benefits it will offer. I read an article in the LA Times earlier this year about how the taxes from it could go towards education and help to prevent layoffs and budget cuts. If it was legalized it could also be better regulated. Im not as in support of taxes on junk food and soda, but Im not entirely opposed to them either. There has been a lot of discussion in the UK about adding a 10% tax to foods that are high in saturated fat and lacking in nutritional value. The grand total of taxes on cigarettes in the US and EU amounts to over 50% of its price, and of course I dont think taxes on food should ever be that high. Though obesity does greatly affect the overall economical health of the nation, secondary effects on people eating poorly are not as great as with smoking. There isnt a risk of someone sitting next to an obese person munching on nachos getting "secondhand fat." Also, food is mandatory to life whereas smoking is not. If junk foods were to be taxed it should be for specific snack items like soda and chips. I wouldnt be in favor of taxing fast food or other foods that would be used for an actual meal since many from lower-income homes eat them more out of necessity than personal preference. I know it seems like the taxes on cigarettes and junk food inhibit personal liberties but I dont really think they do. There is much more to the fact that President Obama now polls lower than President Bush did at fifty days into his presidency than merely what bi-partisan pollsters Schoen and Rasmussen were able to point out this week. In nearly every category of performance, President Obama has adeptly demonstrated that he is in over his head, and sinking fast. "We the people" sense his inability to make sound decisions and thusly, the President has wiped out nearly all of the Republican support he enjoyed not long ago, and Independents are not far behind. When you consider the sector of the Democratic base that thinks raising taxes on everyday working people is bad, you even begin to see a schism in his base not previously thought to be possible. Seriously, in nearly every category of governance he has messed up royally, and is clueless, or wantonly stubborn to do the things that will fix any of the problems. At the end of the day something will change. President Obama will formulate new policies, or "We The People" will use a shepherds staff rather easily in 2012. In my syndicated column and on my blog, I have been tracking the number of campaign promises that he has broken. Yet many of these dont even rise to half the level of importance on the issues that "We The People" are growing increasingly concerned about. On the economy, the unemployment numbers have skyrocketed in the opposite direction, escalating especially hard following the signing of his stimulus plan. The plan, according to leading ecconomists, that only dedicated roughly 3% of the total amount towards actual job creation. On this point Warren Buffet, one of President Obamas strong supporters in the campaign, expressed grave reservation. One of the great lies that President Obama continues to try to perpetuate is to say that "going green" would jump start economic growth. At the same time, he restated in his address to Congress what he had said on the campaign trail: that no family earning less than $250,000 would see an increase in taxes. Yet every family in America is going to pay additional tax under his cap and trade program. By essentially punishing "evil big business" for carbon footprints, the feds claim they will tax said "evil" businesses to show them whos boss. Oddly enough, those "evil" businesses will never feel the sting because they will pass the cost of the imposed taxes on to the consumer in the form of higher prices for simple things like electricty, natural gas, and whatever forms of energy they may use. On foreign relations he spoke loud and long about removing embarrassment from the reputation of the United States to our allies. He prompty begins his administration by giving the very first sit down interviews to networks run by our enemies. He then thrice insults Great Britain, our closest ally of all. He is left with major distance between his wishes and those of Israel, our closest ally in the mid-east. And topping it off, this past week his administration dealt with Brazil, our closest ally in South America, with the same kind of "White House gift shop" hospitality he had just kicked Great Britain in the knees with. On national security Chavez has taunted him, North Korea has threatened him, Iran has burned him in effigy, and Russia, Cuba, and Venezuela are plotting ways to put Russian long range bombers in our hemisphere and directly off our coast. On terrorism Iran, Al Qaeda, and bin Ladin are openly laughing at him. Maybe his giving Hamas -- a terror group, on the international terror watch list -- 90 million dollars, wasnt quite the bold stroke of genius his cabinet told him it would be. No doubt, however, that President Obamas most pressing problem with the public is the fact that now 83% of the American people say they are worried that the steps he has taken to fix the economy will have the opposite effect and make things worse. 82% of the American people say they are worried about the monstrous rise in the national debt. 78% of the American people believe inflation will come quickly. And 69% do not have any confidence in the role of government mandated solutions to the economy. There is also now no sense in the American people that the stimulus will have any positive effect any time soon. Only 60% hold out hope that it will have any impact realized four years from now. Most importantly by a margin of 12% the American people believe the stimulus will only help and unfairly benefit those who have already been irresponsible. Every single one of the actions described and taken in this piece are actions connected directly to Obama. Remember, a clear majority of Americans thought any form of stimulus help should have come primarily through reducing the tax burden, not saddling it up for rides into the sunset. Weve heard the word "crisis" roll off the lips of the administration like syrup in recent days. But now, President Obama has one of his own. Another typical cliched liberal response. Cant find anything to dispute the information so wave it away by attacking the messenger, but not the message. Its a Rassmussen poll. "In reality, here is what last weeks WSJ/NBC poll found: "[Obama] is more popular than ever, Americans are hopeful about his leadership, and opposition Republicans are getting drubbed in public opinion". Here is the last-weeks polling writeup from MSNBC.com:" You too attack the reliability of the source, then have the nerve to give me polls from NBC and MSNBC? And last weeks polls at that? The point of the polls is to show that Obamas populsarity is less than what Bushs was at around the same time frame. Apparently that went way over your head.
Answer: Excellent analysis. You will notice that not one liberal has even attempted to challenge you on your content. It's blame Bush or you don't belong here. The facts speak for themselves and the next two months will show the inevitable downward death spiral of political failure that was clear to any thinking person looking at the issues. Jimmy Carter will look like a savior compared to Obama and his gaggle of lunatics.

Why should Obama be re-elected or even be the front running democrat in the 2012 presidential election?

Why are many free market advocates defending insurance companies as some kind of free market enterprise?

The insurance industry is NOT a free market industry. It has long been in bed with the government (which is the reason why people are forced to purchase car insurance in most states; in Massachusetts, Mitt Romney, probably the Republican frontrunner for 2012, signed a law that forced people to purchase health insurance, which is an even more atrocious law, as people who dont want car insurance are at least free to ride a bicycle instead). The problem with the current system is not too little insurance, but rather too much insurance. Back in the days of 90% tax brackets, businesses competed for employees by offering health insurance (and of course, they kept adding unnecessary aspects to health insurance; car insurance doesnt cover gasoline, yet health "insurance" usually covers these types of things in addition to necessary care, which allows doctors to jack up the prices since the patient doesnt pay). What we need to have in health care is a system where insurance is limited to covering major illnesses (and is a voluntary purchase, not forced on people at gunpoint by the government). For many people, it is a perfectly reasonable choice not to purchase health insurance, despite what some fascistic-minded (yes, fascism refers to the merger of corporations and government at the expense of the people, which accurately describes the economic policies of the Democratic Party and of the "mainstream" of the Republican Party; racism was predominantly a phenomenon in Hitlers National Socialism, not other fascist movements and the claim that fascism is a form of capitalism is an old Comintern smear; as the fascists themselves pointed out, fascism is the middle-of-the-road movement between Capitalism and Communism) politicians might think. It is long past time to shift the debate over health care from the current false dichotomy of the current mixed system VS ObamaCare Inc. to a broader debate focusing on the merits of free market medical care VS the Fascist and Communist alternatives.
