Answer: Just look at what our fearless leaders have done to us and see what we owe now from all this spending, just in interest payments alone: $413 Billion on interest payments 2010 That amount of money exceeds all the following departments COMBINED! Department of Health & Human Services Department of Transportation Department of Energy Department of Veterans Affairs Department of Housing and Urban Development Department of Justice Department of Homeland Security Department of Agriculture Department of Commerce Treasury Department Department of Labor Small Business Administration According to the non partial Congressional Budget Office, by 2021, just 10 short years from now, that $413 billion dollar figure for interest payments will go up to $1.1 TRILLION dollars! That is NOT money we can spend on anything. It just leaves the country and makes other countries rich, leaving us in more debt because none of that money is going to pay off the original debt! To pay this debt as it stands today, Congress would have to stop spending ANY money at all and pay $100 million dollars per day for 389 years! Who's going to pay this?

Why are the democratic party candidates getting more national coverage than the REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES?

I am not on the side of either, so I feel like Im pretty objective. Is a democratic candidate more likely to win following a republican, thus more reason for democratic candidates to spend money campaigning.. ??? Thanks!
Answer: There are a lot of reasons. First of all, there's a theory that this election started very early because people are so disgusted with how things are going that they're looking forward to the next administration and the next Congress. If so, the media sees an advantage in covering challengers over incumbents, in both presidential and congressional races, especially when the incumbent is a 'lame duck'. Secondly, with de-regulation or media have become very profit-oriented and they twist the news to their own economic advantage. They rate candidates by money and whoever comes into the race with the most money they declare the presumptive candidate and they treat the rest as 'also-rans' from the beginning. They do this, of course, because all that money eventually goes into their own pockets, being spent on ads in media! This time around it's the Democrats who have more money! Finally, legit or not, the Democrats are more able to promise real change. All the Republican candidates except Paul have all the same opinions on all the same issues, the official party positions. The media recognize (and I think people are beginning to recognize too) that the GOP is not about one man, it's about an agenda. Whichever GOP candidate you pick, you get not -his- ideas and agenda but the standard party ideas and agenda. The Democrats are more interesting to cover because they actually have different positions, they actually disagree on lots of things. (This should get Ron Paul more coverage, but the media know he doesn't have a chance of getting the Republicans' nomination!)

Why do no REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES have any plan to fix healthcare?

I definitely dont like all of the Democratic Candidates proposals for fixing the problem, but Healthcare definitely is an issue, with people dying because they switch companies after having a pre-existing/uninsurable condition, or after loosing jobs our corporations take to Mexico and India, why do no Republican candidates have any Healthcare Plan on the platforms? Do they think were too dumb to notice? I might not expect much from someone like Mitt Romney who took his profits to other countries so he could avoid the taxes the rest of us pay, but Giuliani? Paul? I expect something. Dizney, thats no plan, but a complaint on someone elses plan. I was hoping I had just missed a plan made public by one of the republicans I respect, but your answer makes me think there isnt one. Do nothing. Im sorry to hear that Maj. Most families have one or two people who are in this situation. It touches us all so Id like to see all candidates, Republican and Democrat have some plan to fix it. I doubt people who cant get their brain tumor removed until it gets to the point requiring an ER visit are splurging on cell phones. This isnt the Welfare issue were talking, its the first part of our right to "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness." This issue is worse every year. Our government wastes money to bring in "independent contractors" who make much more than government employees than it would have to pay to fix this problem. btw. Medicare is much cheaper than Health Insurance. 4000 dollar is less than 10000 in my case. Im not saying Id choose Medicare, but give me the choice. The "free market" cant fix anything, and never has. Its a unfounded religious belief that feudal lords (corporate leaders born into money) will take care of those who need help. The government (We the People) takes care of the commons. (Or do you not want Sewers, Highways, clean water/food anymore?) Weve read "The Jungle," and "A Christmas Carol" to know how the "Free Market" fixes problems. Ahcho, the veterans health care plan is 100% socialized. If it works so well, why wouldnt this work for everyone else? Wow thats awesome Jim. My insurance company changes my information (i.e. "sex" or "age") every year to get out of the costs. I have to put in a request for it to go back to the way it was every year for a different article of information. I wish we had a choice in healthcare, but we have to take what our employers decide for us. In my case, this is expensive and a sociopathic corporation. Id like to support corporations that do things by the laws, not support criminal corporations. (i.e. ones who talk their way out of paying those taxes on the big buildings downtown) Good point, Reminder. So, maybe the proposals out there wont work. Im just more comfortable with candidates who are putting some idea foreward. Michael, that is my biggest fear. If its true, we know why McCain failed in his anti-lobby movement, and our Republic is truely at risk, where dollars and not people vote.
Answer: I have the perfect health care plan. I was in the military and all of my medical needs are taken care of free of charge. Sucks to be a coward.

Why is the Republican Party unable to produce better presidential candidates?

There are numerous Republican candidates, but they are a sorry lot to say the least. There are only two major political parties and the Republican Party will need to find a candidate to run against the Democratic incumbant. Why cant they find someone with a brain and charisma who doesnt make a major gaffe every other day? Im surprised I got so many good answers from both the Republican and Democrat point of view. It will be difficult to choose a best answer.
Answer: Romney will be exposed in due time. - They've got nobody to run against Obama. They're shaking in their boots.... otherwise.... why the hell are we focusing on Herman Cain? REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES Take to the Web in the Battle for Iowa

GOP presidential hopefuls are turning to the web and social media as weapons in the war to win Iowa. What are their digital strategies?

Is their any REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES that have a chance to beat President Obama in 2012?

I was wondering what Republican candidates would have a chance as President of the United States in the 2012 election? If you cant think of a Republican, then an Independent or another party candidate?
Answer: Currently the the Republican race is what is referred to as a horse race. To many canidates thus weakening the strength of any one candidate. Haley Barbour and Huckabee have dropped out thinning it some. People are becoming disenchanted with the Tea Party's extremism and reluctance to negotiate. Thus Buchmann becomes a loser. Palin is suffers from a lack of substance and thus becomes a liability. Additionally her numbers are going down in the polls. That leaves three possibilities Gingrich, Romney and Giuliani All three have been looser''s in the past. Giuliani has lost his strength and fails to amaze. Gingrich, lost the congress for the Republic party and is not middle of the Road enough. This leaves Romney. He is more moderate than the others. However, reality shows his religion to be a liability. I would say that the Republican's need a centrist who is willing modify not destroy health care, social security and medicare. He or she will need to take on Immigration. They will have to be willing to start enforcing current law. They will also have to attack the administrative ruling and be willing to challenge the concept of anchor babies. This candidate will also have to be pro Israel.
