Answer: Walmart skateboards are cheaper but only because they're made out of cheaper material. If you want the board to actually last a while a hold up, invest in a good board. If you go into a shop like Zumiez or Vans, they'll be able to tell you what the best board they have is and fit you with the right parts for a decent price. Spend the money on a good board so you don't have to worry about buying a new one soon when the Walmart one breaks. It depends on who wants the board and how serious they are.

Does the WALMART attendance policy include a death in the family?

My husband and I found out today that his mother committed suicide. We are planning to go to the funeral next week but they live about 20 hours away so I would need more than one day off. I am a part time employee but cant seem to find any information about whether I am likely to get time off since technically she is isnt my mother--just my mother-in-law. How does WALMART sell stuff for so cheap and make money?

I was on the Walmart website, and everything is so freaking cheap! I live in a third world country and we pay way more than that for stuff. How does Walmart sell stuff for so cheap?
Answer: Due to their purchasing power. They buy in extreme volume and get bulk discount pricing. Also, they tell vendors what they will pay them not vice versa. If a vendor doesn't like the price Walmart will find a vendor that will give them their price. Most vendors don't want to lose Walmart's business so they agree to Walmart's purchase price. Walmart is then able to offer the goods for the low prices that they do. I was able to tour one of their warehouses and they are quite expansive. Walmart has mastered the art of knowing what they need, how much they need, and when they need it. They order merchandise months in advance. They also have their stores linked into their inventory system and are able to replenish their stores almost instantly. For example, if you bought a TV. The system registers that a tv was bought at sore x and sends out a notice to ship TV to store X to replenish the inventory stock at store x. This usually happens in the same day. This efficiency also helps to save in ordering and labor costs which also contributes to Walmart being able to offer low prices.

I had an interview with Walmart about 4 weeks ago for a part-time cashier and they have not contacted me yet. At this interview all I had to do was sign some papers with the manager who said that usually there is more than one interview done. The interview went great and I only had to answer a few questions like the hours that I am available to work. Answer: The questions asked at the interviews are not position specific, they are a series of 5 categories, in each category 2 questions are asked, in the form of..'tell me about a time when you...etc....ect.?" All applicants are asked the same questions. You will be interviewed by a store hourly manager, and if that Mgr. feels your answers where both honest and showing a history of previous understanding to policies,etc...(depending on the subject/topic) you will then be asked to wait until a salaried member of Mgmt. will come in and conduct a 2nd interview with you following the first interview. The 2nd interview is basically the same type questions (and immediately follows the 1st interview) if that make sense..lol A job offer usually follows after the 2nd interview and a drug test is scheduled, as well as a background check. I live in Kansas and have called over 20 Walmart stores! They sell the 20 and 40 lb bag but We have mini dachshunds, aa 20 lb bag is just too big! Answer: Our Wal-mart has the small bags. I do not know their prices as I do not buy their dog food. You may want to talk to the manager to see if they can get it in for you. I know a lot of Wal-mart store are chainging things around and not getting other products in. You can check with PetCo or the like to see if they have the small bags. We have been to one PetCo will also give you samples of other puppy / dog foods that are a better quality if you ask. When our pups go to their new homes they also get puppy food and a toy. I hate the idea of sending them off with out anything.

Answer: To be honest, neither payless or Walmart are good stores to be buying dance clothes or shoes. You should either buy your shoes at the studio or go to a dance specialty store. Same with your leotard. The clothes at Walmart are not good quality and your leotard will be falling appart after a few weeks. The material used in many of their leotard also doesn't let your skin breathe properly. Also, the dance shoes at payless are really cheaply made and are not suitable for anyone over the age of six.

I need to know how One Company (Walmart) uses a good marketing information system to gather date. How is the information gather, the type of information gather, and how that information helps the company market its products.
Answer: In only one, simple example, the company may review sales from the registers to determine which products sell best of worst during certain days, and at which locations. In that way, inventory can be distributed in such a way that the stores not selling as much of a product won't have to store as much on their shelves and, at other stores where the demand is greater, can keep more stock on hand. Remember, any stock on the shelf is money spent and not returning a profit. Money can only be made by moving stock off of the shelf and into the customer's carts.

My mom works at Walmart and she says that each paycheck they deduct a small amount and put towards a stock. This last tax year he sold his stock, but when he received the information in the mail there is a sell date but no purchase date. When she is filing his taxes what does she use as the purchase date?
Answer: Dear JN: You should report the sale as (FIFO). First stock she bought is the first stock she sells. First in First out. If all the stocks she sold are over one year in the account they are all long term. If all are under one year they are all short term (gain). Some computer programs have a selection of various and then you pick the category-long or short. Answer: Sounds more like a coincidence. We sometimes hear about someone who had a premonition and didn't get on a flight that later crashed, but we never hear about the people who had premonitions and didn't get on flights that landed safely. Walmart would have to have some way getting your email address from your debit card number. It's not likely your bank would give it out even if they have it, and it's even less likely Walmart could hack it any other way. Hope that helps.
