Initially I was turned off about the lack of 3G because my current Kindle has it but I figured I could use my mobile hotspot on my phone to download books. Ill primarily be using it as an e-reader and perhaps some email. I think the mobile hotspot is a backdoor way of getting 3G connection. Ive decided to wait for the consumer reviews to come in before making a decision.

It looks like Kindle didn't get any battery improvement in the new model. More, Kindle Touch still flashes black on each page turn while Nook Touch reduces the flashing by 80%. Nook (unlike Kindle) supports eBooks in ePub format that is the universal format most used in the world.If you walk in with the Nook to Barnes & Noble store, you’re allowed to read ANY available eBook for free while in the store via free provided in the store Wi-Fi. What tablet/device should I buy?

O.k. I currently own a Zune HD and its future doesnt look good. Apparently is dying. So Im thinking about getting a tablet or device that meets my requirements: 1. A fast processor, something that is relatively fast. 2. Has internet. Fast internet, not load and freeze. 3. Apps and games. Something for entertainment 4. Movies, pictures, and music. I need it to be able to run media like the ones listed. Music is the most important to me really, Id like it to have speakers too, but thats not really important. Ive been recommending the Amazon Kindle Fire, Samsung Galaxy Tab, and the Latte ICE Smart. The galaxy tab and latte ice seem to have some bad reviews, but Im not totally sure which one to buy. I dont care if its a tablet. As long as its screen isnt tiny. And I love touch devices. it has to be portable enough for me to travel with. My budget is no more than $300. Thanks.
Answer: Hey, Joshua, Nook Color 2 is rumored to be released by Barnes & Noble shortly and it'll sure to have microSD slot that neither Kindle model has. Lack of microSD slot means that if you decide to root your Kindle Fire, you’ll have to root the actual device thus there will be no coming back. On Nook Color, you can make it boot from a “rooted” microSD card and if you want to get back to the original Nook you can just take out the card and reboot. Kindle Fire it is stuck with 6 GB usable internal storage unlike Nook Color that can get up to 32 GB card in. To get to the promised Cloud space of Amazon you need to have Wi-Fi connection available (thus not when traveling) and you can only store content you get from Amazon there, not other files. Quoting Amazon on Kindle Fire: "Free cloud storage for all Amazon content". The stats of how long the battery can last (Kindle Fire theory is 7.5 hours) are taken with Wi-Fi off. It will last only about 3 hours if you use it to access content from their Cloud storage over Wi-Fi. Amazon confirmed that you cannot download anything to Kindle Fire outside US. Amazon said it will reject many apps that will include those that rely on a gyroscope, camera, WAN module, Bluetooth, microphone, GPS, or micro SD. Apps are also forbidden from using Google's Mobile Services (and in-app billing), which, if included, will have to be "gracefully" removed. In terms of actual content, Amazon has outlawed all apps that change the tablet's UI in any way (including theme- or wallpaper-based tools), as well as any that demand root. access

Answer: Before anyone else posts, I'd like to point out that the poem is by Edmund Spenser, deceased 400 years, not written by the poster. How did I know? My first clue was when the poster said, "by Edmund Spenser." Good points: Spenser sets an analogy, and follows this one idea throughout the poem. The imagery can be felt as well as seen. It's very racy, while not being indecent. "But harder grows the more I her entreat?" is a punny description of her reaction, while referring to his. Feeling his "flames augmented manifold," is more hot-and-heavy description. Bad points: Um, none. The language is brilliant and full of feeling, without being trite. Okay, if you have to have a bad point, how about just the age of the poem? The use of words that are not common today means that it is not as accessible as it was when he wrote it.
